On Wednesday, September 24, 2021, representatives of EMA SA (www.ema.gr), the exclusive dealer of the Continental Tyre Group in Greece, met with the President of the Hellenic Red Cross, Dr. Antonios Avgerinos and, after receiving detailed information on the multifaceted actions of the HRC in the fire-stricken areas of our country, offered the amount of 20,000 euros to support the fire-stricken communities.

The amount was deposited in a special account created by the Hellenic Red Cross to support those affected by last summer's fires and acknowledges the important work carried out by the Hellenic Red Cross, which pledged that this financial donation will be used in the best possible way for the financial support of the inhabitants of the fire-stricken areas of Greece.

The President of the HRC stated: "The donation of EMA SA, apart from being touching, is also crucial for the support of our fellow citizens who are fire victims. We appreciate EMA's trust and practical support in our work. Moreover, it gives strength and courage to our staff and volunteers to continue to offer their services tirelessly for the benefit of fire victims throughout the country."

EMA's CEO, Mr. Thanassis Tsoukas, said: "Committed to delivering innovative products, EMA invests in social contribution, taking into account the state of emergency that Greece experienced during the summer of devastating fires. With today's contribution, we demonstrate in practice our sincere interest in the relief of vulnerable groups in need."

It is worth noting that, since 2012, EMA SA, through its corporate responsibility program Contribution to Safety, continuously supports other Organisations, such as "The Smile of the Child", for which it covers, free of charge, the needs of all its vehicles (passenger cars, ambulances, minibuses, vans) regarding tyres, so that children and workers can be safely transported.
